What is No-Shave November?

Posted by K. Pitts on Nov 1st 2017

No-Shave November is an organization that encourages people to donate what they would otherwise spend on hair grooming to the American Cancer Society. It is an American take on Movember, which began in Australia in 2003 to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancers, according to the Movember Foundation, a nonprofit that raised nearly $21 million in 2013.

Growing out one's facial hair for 30 days is meant to raise awareness for cancer. It's also a chance for dudes to show off their 'staches, goatees, Fu Manchus, mutton chops, beginner beards, and other furry face-warmers. More than 20 countries participate in Movember every year now, and the organization has raised over $700 million! Yeah... million!

How can I participate?

To participate, start with a fresh face at the beginning of the month and "donate your face" until Nov. 30 by not shaving. Put down your razor and set up your own personal No-Shave November fundraising page. If you’re not ready to get hairy, sit back and support someone who is. You can raise funds, too. The No-Shave November Project has donated more than 800 programs to date. Find more out at no-shave.org

What am I forgetting?

Beard oil!! Beard oil is the set to your beard journey. It will stop the itchiness and provide moisturizing properties to the skin on your face. The best time to use beard oil is after showering, or after washing your face. Using beard oil when your pores are open will help your skin absorb it efficiently. You can experiment with using beard oil every day or every other day.

So stop the shop, and pick out what scent you would like to start with. For some, going non-scented is a good choice. Show us the transformation on our socials! We're looking forward to seeing the difference!!
